Best type of pinochle?

Do you ever run into pinochle players who think double deck is some sort of abomination of the game? I guess you could call them traditionalists, but it really annoys me. I love double deck pinochle, and I've seen the single deck games and the pinochle games where you pass cards, and even though those variations are still called pinochle, it is a different game than double deck. I'm done.

I hate partnership games that include passing cards between partners; that's an abomination, IMO. Or something to do as a rare variation, or when you're playing totally for fun.

I don't like single deck because it's too simple. There isn't enough scope for thoughtful play.

I agree. Passing cards I guess is fun for people that enjoy gambling, without needing or wanting strategy, but that is not for me.
