Basketball - rakbeater - 04-17-2016

This would have been great to have prior to this year's March Madness college basketball tournament, but I am a big basketball fan (NBA playoffs starting), former player, coach, and current official.  What a great game.

Well, it appears my family will be moving back to the town where I went to high school...moving closer to my wife's family. Interestingly enough when we decided to make this move, just a few days later, I was approached by a former, fellow basketball coach who encouraged me to apply for the head coaching job at my old high school. So I may end up being the head of my old high school basketball program. I've heard there isn't very much competition for the job and, unfortunately, their varsity team has gone 20-90 (or something close to that) the last 5 years so I'll have my hands full trying to turn this program around if I get the job. I'll keep everyone updated.

Interview on Monday. We'll see what happens. I'll post an update after the interview.

Didn't get the job, so I'll keep focusing on becoming a better official. It is disappointing to lose out to anyone, but there would have been a lot of pressure and unrealistic expectation because I realized that these people believe that the team should go to the playoffs and possibly win the division, when they weren't even .500 last year.
